Price:  $0.00

This 2.5, high-butterfly MFI-powered 1971 Porsche 911 S (ST recreation) carries an FIA wagenpass after a comprehensive build and restoration to period-correct ST specification between 2007 and 2009 by marque specialist Roitmayer GmbH in Germany. Beginning with a genuine 71 911S chassis, the car was stripped to its bare shell and rebuilt to reflect the lightweight Group 4 ST configuration developed by Porsche for endurance racing in the early 1970s. The result is a purpose-built driver’s car that faithfully captures the character, mechanical specification, and visual presence of the legendary 911 ST competition machines. Power comes from a highly developed 2.5-liter flat-six built to ST specification. The engine features Mahle 89 mm pistons and cylinders, a 70.4 mm 911S crankshaft, Carrillo connecting rods, and an optimized case with piston oil squirters. The cylinder heads are based on 2.2S units with enlarged ports, paired with Carrera 6 camshafts and high-butterfly ST intake stacks feeding a Bosch mechanical fuel injection pump converted to 2.5 ST specification. Twin-plug ignition is handled by a Magneti-Marelli reproduction distributor system, and the engine breathes through a stainless exhaust system tuned to meet 100 dBA sound requirements. The drivetrain is equally competition focused. Power is sent through a Porsche 915 gearbox with close ratios, a 7:31 ring and pinion, and a 45 percent limited-slip differential. The clutch assembly utilizes RSR-style components including a sintered metal clutch and RSR pressure plate. The car’s bodywork reflects the purposeful stance of the ST program, with period-correct flared fenders, lightweight details, and race-inspired fittings. A center-fill ATL FIA-certified fuel cell replaces the original fuel tank, and additional period elements include bonnet-mounted Cibie-style driving lamps, quick-release hood latches, Plexiglass quarter windows, and minimalist ST-style door panels with sliding windows and leather strap pulls. The car rides on 15-inch Fuchs wheels fitted with Michelin TB15 tires, emphasizing its historic racing character. Inside, the cockpit is stripped and functional, built around a bolt-in roll cage and lightweight race seating in keeping with the ST’s competition roots. The car also carries historic documentation including FIA Historic Technical Passport papers and detailed records from its restoration and mechanical work. Following its completion, the car participated in historic motorsport events in Europe and later appeared at the 2017 HSR Classic 24 Hour at Daytona. More recently it has received continued servicing and preparation, including fluid service and mechanical inspection performed by Klub Sport Racing LLC in 2023, installation of Michelin TB15 tires in 2024, detailing and engine cleaning in 2024, and an oil and filter service with additional checks performed in 2026. Combining authentic period specification, extensive specialist restoration work, and documented mechanical preparation, this ST recreation delivers the raw, mechanical driving experience that made the original cars so revered. Whether used for historic events, spirited driving, or as a centerpiece in a serious Porsche collection, it embodies the spirit of Porsche’s early endurance racing era.
