This 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo hotrod is an extensively developed 930 that combines its original Grand Prix White presentation and classic Turbo character with a decade of documented mechanical reengineering. Built in Stuttgart on December 13, 1985 and ordered through Porsche’s Tourist Delivery program, it was specified in Grand Prix White with a black leather interior, limited-slip differential, electric sliding sunroof, and alarm system. The car left the factory with an M93068 3.3-liter flat-six and G93036 five-speed transmission. Records indicate the original engine was removed and replaced at 84,101 miles in 2009, with the replacement engine subsequently becoming the foundation for the comprehensive build seen today.

At the center of the car is a 3.45-liter turbocharged stroker engine developed through several stages. The most recent bottom-end build uses a genuine Porsche GT3/RS counterweighted and cross-drilled crankshaft, Pauter 4340 chromoly Turbo-spec connecting rods, TK/CP 98mm stroker pistons with DLC-coated wrist pins, and LN Engineering “Nickie” nickel-silicon-carbide cylinders with Calico thermal-barrier and low-friction coatings. In 2025, the engine was completely disassembled, measured, and reassembled with 993 GT2+ camshafts, a motorsport bearing and Viton gasket package, and a Garrett G35-900 ball-bearing turbocharger before start-up, heat cycling, and dyno tuning. Earlier development included an AEM Infinity 506 stand-alone ECU with a custom mil-spec harness, twin-plug coil-on-plug ignition, CNC-ported and polished cylinder heads with Niresist liners, electronic fuel injection, and a full-width intercooler with VanJen quick-disconnect couplers.

The drivetrain and chassis were upgraded with the same level of attention. A Wavetrac limited-slip differential is paired with WEVO semi-solid engine and transmission mounts and a Sachs lightweight clutch package, while the exhaust was converted to a twin-scroll configuration with dual Turbosmart wastegates and a modular side-exit muffler. Suspension development originally included custom digressive-valved coilovers, raised and shortened front struts configured for 16-inch wheels, an RSR adjustable bump-steer system, monoball front control-arm bushings, 935-style rear spring plates, welded rear chassis bracing, de-cambered ball joints, and rear monoball trailing-arm bushings. In 2026 the suspension was further updated with MCS two-way non-remote dampers valved for 450/600 spring rates, followed by a full corner balance and four-wheel alignment, along with new front tie-rod ends and sway-bar spherical links. The car currently sits on 17-inch BRAID Fuchs-style wheels painted completely black and fitted with Nitto NT01 competition road tires.

Usability was not ignored in the process. The factory air-conditioning system was replaced with a custom R134a setup utilizing serpentine coolers and a new evaporator, and the system received additional electrical and hose repairs during the car’s most recent service. That 2026 service also included a complete driveline torque inspection, fresh engine oil and filter, replacement horns, new Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires, and correction of several suspension and steering items. Paint correction was also performed and paint-protection film was applied to the front clip.

In total, the accompanying records document more than $151,000 invested in the car from 2019 through 2026 alone, covering its engine, turbo system, fuel and ignition management, drivetrain, suspension, exhaust, air conditioning, and recent sorting. Rather than attempting to preserve a stock 930 configuration, this car has been built around the experience of a substantially more developed air-cooled Turbo while retaining the unmistakable shape and atmosphere of the original. For someone seeking a 930 intended to be driven, this example offers an unusually extensive and well-documented combination of modern engine manag
