1969 911 E Coupe - Bare-Metal, Rotisserie Restoration - Numbers-Matching, MFI Engine Built to 2.2L S-spec - West Coast car since new. Finished in Tangerine (6809) over Black Leatherette (9922) with a 5-speed manual, 901 gearbox—this ‘69E is absolutely fresh-squeezed, with only 300 miles driven since its thorough restoration in Southern California. All mechanical and cosmetic areas were rebuilt, replaced with new parts or refinished. Originally built on October 22, 1968, this 69E was sold new in Oregon, where it was used until 1989 when it was placed into dry storage. In 2015, an enthusiast from Orange County, CA acquired the project, which lasted 4+ with completion in 2019. Invoices for all services performed and parts purchased are included. This 911 was completely disassembled and catalogued to start with, and its chassis was sent for media blasting to determine what metal work was needed. The body was in very good condition with little rust. Sleepers Speed Shop placed the car on a rotisserie and completed the necessary metal work, primarily a new floor and front suspension pan. Following this, the car was sent to Shane East at East Autobody for a complete repaint in its original shade of Tangerine. Aase Motors completed the engine rebuild (performed by Allan Faragalah), gearbox rebuild, as well as overhauling and rebuilding of all major systems including brakes, suspension, fuel, and ignition. The motor was torn down to a bare split-case, with machining performed by Ollie’s incl. case savers, barrel shims, inserts and bypass kit. The 2.2 heads were resurfaced and ported to S-spec with a valve job, and 9.8:1 compression 2.2 S Mahle pistons & cylinders were installed. Pacific Fuel Injection rebuilt the MFI pump to 2.2 S-spec, new MFI injectors were installed, and the throttle bodies were rebuilt by Eurometrix. Oil fed chain tensioners were installed along with Elephant racing oil lines and an early S trombone oil cooler in the front fender. New fuel and oil tanks were installed with all requisite hoses and the distributor was rebuilt with electronic ignition installed. The muffler and heat exchangers were refinished as well. The 901 transmission was also rebuilt with new synchros, bearings, and paired with a new clutch kit and resurfaced flywheel. The braking system was overhauled with rebuilt aluminum front S brake calipers, new brake lines, master cylinder and Ferodo pads. New Bilstein shocks and struts were installed with all new suspension bushings and rubber throughout, and the steering system and u-joints were rebuilt as well. Following completion of 150 break-in miles, the car returned to Aase for a valve adjustment, oil change, inspection and minor adjustments. The interior was completely redone by K&H European with new Haargarn carpeting, door panels, seat upholstery, dash, visors and headliner. North Hollywood Speedometer performed a mechanical restoration on the gauges while retaining the original patina of the faces. All components for rubber, trims, hardware and so fort were sourced from various vendors with invoices included. There are essentially no signs of use following completion of the restoration. The 3-bar engine lid grille is original and looks excellent. All exterior trims incl. rubbers, deco trim, and lenses are new. The factory 15x6 Fuchs were polished and wear 185/70 OEM-sized Pirelli tires with the unrestored 14” spare Fuchs in the trunk.
