1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI

NLA

By the introduction of the impact-bumper 911 in 1974, Porsche was well aware of the need to continue brilliantly potent mechanical combination of the revered 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7. This came into production as the 1974 Carrera 2.7 MFI. Essentially a mechanical twin of the 2.7 RS Touring, but with a stronger chassis and crash bumpers, the Carrera carried over the same 911/83 powerplant as the 2.7 RS and developed approximately 210HP--with unmatched engine response and character provided by the Bosch mechanical fuel injection. Otherwise known as the Euro Carrera or RoW (Rest-of-World), its US-bound counterparts were emissions-restricted to a 2.7l CIS-injected engine producing only 175HP and lacking the same response of its MFI brother. Only 1,026 RoW Carrera 2.7 examples were produced in 1974.
